ARTICLE I - NAME

The name of this Society shall be The Peters Colony Historical Society of Dallas County, Texas.

ARTICLE II - PURPOSE

The purpose of this Society is to arouse interest in the past, especially the history of the Carrollton and Farmers Branch, Texas, communities and the surrounding area.

To collect, preserve and disseminate historical information such as genealogies, directories, papers and pamphlets, manuscript material, aboriginal relics and material objects illustrative of life, conditions, events and activities of the past and of the present.

To cooperate with officials and other Societies or Associations in insuring the preservation of the records and archives of the community as well as the preservation of historic buildings, monuments, markers and trails.

ARTICLE III - MEMBERSHIP

Membership shall include those people interested in history and especially the history of the Peters Colony area. There will be three types of membership: Active, Life and Honorary.

ARTICLE IV

The Peters Colony Historical Society of Dallas County, Texas, shall be a nonprofit organization existing solely for the purposes stated in Article II.
